On a single night in the US in 2020 there were

580,466 people experiencing homelessness.

In Dallas County that number is 4,471 people and in Irving that number is in the hundreds. These people, our homeless neighbors, represent a cross-section of America. They are associated with every region of the country, family status, gender category, and racial/ethnic group.

People are important to us, wherever they are in life. Families and individuals are struggling more than ever during this age of Covid-19 and difficult economic times. We want, where we can, to help people through the tough times in their life. With that in mind, we have multiple opportunities to reach out and help those homeless neighbors in our community.

ENGAGING TEEN HOMELESSNESS

Each year, in our country, an estimated 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness. 700,000 are unaccompanied minors, meaning they are not a part of a family or in the company of a parent or adult. 1 in 10 young adults ages 18 to 25 and at least 1 in 30 adolescents ages 13 to 17 experience some form of homelessness over the course of a year. In our own city of Irving, TX hundreds of teenagers will be forced to live without a place to call home.Brought to you by Level Pathways and the Irving Community Action Network, this roundtable explores the tragedy that is occurring all around us.
